Kevin Small is a Principal Consultant at Talthos Consulting and Search. He is a global HR leader with nearly 30 years of experience with Fortune 200 companies in Talent Acquisition, HR management, and HR generalist roles, with 12 years in the high-tech industry, 11 years in the Plastics and Chemicals industry and 3.5 years in the Recruitment Process Outsourcing industry (RPO).
Most recently, Kevin was Americas Director of Talent Acquisition for the Korn Ferry RPO account at Cummins Inc. He was responsible for strategic leadership of the Americas talent acquisition organization. Kevin led a team of ~65 sourcing, recruiting, and coordination professionals across the Americas. The team was responsible for hiring ~3200 annually. While at Korn Ferry, Kevin built an effective team focused on strategic sourcing and client partnership. He grew YoY professional hiring capacity by 35%, enabling the account to scale, increased college hiring during the 2017 cycle by 25% (~1400 entry level and intern hires)and restructured the Distribution TA team to better align to the business needs and created a 25% increase in HM satisfaction. Kevin was also instrumental in securing a new three-year agreement between Korn Ferry and Cummins.
Prior to Korn Ferry, Kevin led the Talent Acquisition for North America for the Alexander Mann Solutions (AMS) RPO account at Rolls Royce. At Rolls Royce, Kevin led a dispersed team of ~25 sourcing, recruiting, and coordination professionals. He played a critical role in securing a three-year agreement between AMS and Rolls Royce.
Prior to AMS, Kevin held Global Director of Talent Acquisition roles at Interactive Intelligence and Dow Corning. Interactive Intelligence is a global provider of unified communications for mid-size to large organizations. In that role, he was responsible for developing and implementing key strategies for global talent acquisition and workforce planning. In Kevin’s tenure at Interactive, he led a complete redesign of the Talent Acquisition function to establish a high preforming TA team. The effectiveness and efficiency improvements resulted in a reduction of agency spend by nearly 80%. At Dow Corning, Kevin built the TA organization from the ground up. The team grew to 30 TA team members globally and filled 1500 positions annually. He was also instrumental in the implementation of Dow Corning’s first applicant tracking system.
Kevin has also held numerous global HR roles at Dow Chemical and Intel Corporation.
Kevin has been a speaker at various HR conferences including HR Technology Conference, Conference Board, HR Executive Roundtable, and Kelly Services Presidents Circle.
Kevin graduated with a Master’s in Labor and Industrial Relations from Michigan State University
